We are excited to share with you that Arlington’s two premier 13-and-older travel baseball organizations – Arlington Senators and Arlington Travel Baseball (ATB) – have joined forces to form one new organization, “Arlington United Baseball.”
The program will provide more opportunities for Arlington players to play “big field” (60’/90’) baseball in Arlington. Ready for the fall 2024-2025 season, the program will provide multiple levels of baseball, starting this year at the 13U, 14U, and 15U levels.
This includes top travel teams that will compete with the best in the region. At least three teams per age group will practice and play on Arlington fields, play a competitive tournament (including events run by national organizations) and NVTBL schedule, and will be managed by coaches with experience at the professional, collegiate, and/or high school levels. Players on the top two teams are not required to play recreational baseball, though they are encouraged to do so. Local team(s) will also play a competitive travel schedule, and players on these teams will participate in the Arlington Senior Babe Ruth spring league to maximize opportunities to develop and grow as ballplayers.
Arlington United Baseball is partnered with Arlington Senior Babe Ruth (ASBR) to provide the opportunity for everyone to play baseball. ASBR offers a strong recreation baseball program in both the fall and spring that is open to all players. In addition, ASBR offers summer All-Star teams that participate in the Senior Babe Ruth national All-Star tournament. Several Arlington All-Star teams have advanced to the Senior Babe Ruth World Series in the past few years! A player must participate in the ASBR spring season to be eligible for All-Stars.
Tryouts for the Arlington United Baseball Fall 2024 teams will be held in Arlington in mid-May. Sign up now at arlingtonunitedbaseball.org to get updates on tryouts, community information sessions and registration. Contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

2024 Spring Senators
The Spring season will be robust! The Senators will be in action at the 13u and 14u levels, which are shaping up to be exciting teams of development, skill building and great baseball against strong competitors. The also will be a 15/16u team if there are players who are interested and are not playing high school baseball.
Tryouts for Fall 2024 13u teams (current 12u players) will be held in the spring.
The Senators spring season will begin in early March and will continue through May when the teams will pause to allow some players to join the ASBR All-Stars tournament trail, or the ASBR summer travel teams. Those teams will begin with tryouts in late May - early June. The seasons will continue through July, and possibly into August if teams advance. Below is the planning for the spring/summer schedule:
Senators Winter - Spring Schedule
December-February – Winter workouts
Early March – Practices begin
Mid-March – NVTBL Sunday DHs begin
April – ASBR games begin (Senators are required to play the spring ASBR season)
Late May – NVTBL Memorial Day Weekend tourney
ASBR Summer

Mid-May – Tryouts for ASBR All-Star teams (Open to all ASBR players)
Early June – ASBR spring team playoffs (Prep and Alliance Leagues)
June – ASBR All-Star and Travel teams practice, plus two tournaments
July – Babe Ruth All-Star Trail and possibly another tournament (usually 4 tournaments)
July 11-15 – ASBR 14u All-Stars host their Virginia Babe Ruth tournament at Barcroft Park
August – Babe Ruth World Series, if team qualifies
Senators Fall
Early September – Tryouts for 14u and 15/16u Fall Teams to fill open slots
September-October – NVTBL games and some tournaments
Notes:
For players who do not make the ASBR Summer District All-Star team, ASBR will form a second summer travel team to play in selected tournaments, if there are enough interested players.
We are in the process of identifying coaches for the spring and summer teams and plan to have selections completed by the end of January.
